Tourism.RF signs cooperation agreement with the Tula Region Government
During a working trip to the Tula Region, CEO of the Tourism.RF Corporation Sergey Sukhanov and Governor of the Tula Region Alexei Dyumin signed an agreement on the joint development of the region's tourism infrastructure.

Under the agreement, the parties will shortly begin working on master plans for tourist areas and for attracting investors. The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, who noted that it was of utmost importance to develop tourism in the region so that the Tourism and the Hospitality national project goals could be reached:

“The 650th anniversary grand celebrations marking the historic Battle of Kulikovo planned in the region include dozens of events. We need to consider a safety margin now to be able to accommodate the potential increase in the tourist flow, to build more hotels and tourist facilities where necessary and streamline the service sector. The goal of our joint plans with the region is to double the tourist traffic by 2030, to 2 million people. We are quite capable of reaching that level using the tools made available by the Tourism and the Hospitality national project,” Chernyshenko said.

Commenting on the agreement, regional head Alexei Dyumin said the Tula Region was the first region in central Russia to join the infrastructure development efforts as part of the Tourism and the Hospitality national project. “We have already started cooperating with the Tourism.RF Corporation. Our joint plans include the infrastructural development of several tourist clusters, including Oksky and Kulikovsky as a matter of priority. I am quite sure that our cooperation with the Corporation will be fruitful and will help bring the regional infrastructure to a totally new level,” Alexei Dyumin said.

The head of the corporation, Sergey Sukhanov, confirmed that the work is already underway. “The agreement with the Tula Region Government allows us to start developing several places, including the historical Kulikovo cluster and the Romantsevskiye Gory unique nature zone. The region is blessed with unique natural areas, with rich historical and cultural heritage, and has good transport accessibility. We can see great prospects here in terms of eco-tourism, educational tourism and weekend breaks.”

The Tourism.RF Corporation was established on 18 December 2020 at the instruction of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with the aim of developing the national tourism infrastructure. The corporation previously signed cooperation agreements with a number of regions, including the republics of Altai and Buryatia, the Irkutsk and Sakhalin regions, as well as the Primorye Territory.
